“High yield-zero emission” with an integrated system through new technologies

Our achievable goal for a “SMART CITY “is the reduction of environmental emissions, which in time, will turn the city into a more and more livable territory; thanks to the use of its own available local resources and by optimizing the city’s energy system.

The implementation and the integration of high efficiency renewable technologies through our green system of “pyrogasification” and biogas, valorization into clean energy of the waste, solid and liquid biomass is possible, finally discarding the concept of landfills and incinerations.

Treatable type of waste:

  • Municipal solid waste.
  • Polluting special waste.
  • Industrial sewage sludge and water waste.
  • Wood, plastics, tires.
  • Production waste of agri-food and industrial food.

Through “our storage system in compressed-air form” the electricity that is locally produced by the disposal system or by another renewable energy plant, can be utilized on demand basis, feeding the city’s energy demands such as conditioning systems, private or public land or maritime transport services with no CO2 emissions, or by just converting it again in to electrical energy; again without emissions on the atmosphere.

Our integrated system is based on eco-friendly plants; they are compact, modular and easy to install; indeed with minimal civil works, since it has adopted the solution of transportablecontainer plant.

Through our “reclamation system” valorization of polluted lands is now possible, the same land can be then eventually reutilized for the installation of the plant itself.

The flexibility and excellent integration between the various systems, is the key to interpret the future of the green technology with their applications such as in compressed air, in thermal systems, and in energy systems, to have a smart grid for a real Eco Smart City, having a wide vision a general and complete management of the energy system.

PYROGASIFICATION SYSTEM FOR WASTE DISPOSAL

The idea of eliminating waste through a virtuous cycle has strongly encouraged us to implement the project SET Energy Service.

Thanks to the experience, professionalism and highly-qualified technologies and human resources that are involved in the project, through major commitments and collaborations, it has been possible to develop a sustainable system of heat and electricity production through the disposal of urban, industrials, agricultural and animal waste, allowing the elimination of landfills.

Our systems are intended to meet the waste disposal needs of small, medium and large waste collection centers, whether private or public, and this is why we have developed a modular system that are compact, manageable, easy to install and are designed according to the production needs of the site.

DISPOSAL=RAW MATERIAL

The Sistem SET may valorize any product dry or liquid containing organic or non-organic components such as:

  • Domestic and industrial waste
  • Water treatment sludge
  • Wine or sugar production sludge
  • Agricultural residues ( Corn, rice, sugar etc...)
  • Hospital waste
  • Wood and polluted wood waste (construction, railway track and etc...) Plastic, cardboard.
  • Animal bones, manure and carcasses
  • Used tyres and etc...

PYROLYSIS TECHNOLOGY

Through a patented system that uses a process which transfers heat directly in the heart of the raw materials (biomass or waste), a single process of only about “12 minutes using steel balls that are heated in a temperature between 450° and 1050°C transforms 90-95% of the organic materials into SYNGAS. The steel ball will be again heated inside a small oven and will again recover 50% of the energy used during the heating process.

PYRO-GASIFICATOR

The pyro-gasification technology used by SET ENERGY SERVICES allows transforming up to 95% of the carbon through a single process cycle of 12 minutes thus allowing a high production of SYNGAS.

The consumption of energy to produce syngas is only from 10% to 20% of the production process.
This system can also produce oil (diesel) from products such as tires or other polluting products with very few emissions.

PYROLYSIS AND ENVIRONMENT

The tests results with higly polluting products revealed a particulary advantageous results for the enviroment precisely the CO2 emissions, it remained below 300 Kg/T, which means 70% lesser compared to the technology of modern incineration. In addition, the absence of oxygen during the process makes it a point that no dioxins are produced, while the set of particles that may be polluting can be found in the residues at a the end of the process.

BIODIGESTION AND BIOGAS

BIODIGESTION is a technology pertaining to agro industrial waste.

In the treatment of waterwaste purification, by the agroindustrials, the use of another reactor that operates without oxygen eliminates the pollution they create, by producing biogas.

The principle is based on a patented technology UASB that implements a bed of granular sludge in an ascending flow.

This type of compact reactor, powers up quickly, and accepts important soluble organic charges. Because of its small size and the energy savings it generates, makes this technology particularly suitable for the treatment of liquid waste produced by the food industry.

The residues of biodigestion process becomes the raw material for the pyrolysis process. This process allows industries (ex. cheese factory), to become autonomous in its own energy supply.

AIR POWER
Energy production and storage: Super Cool Panel and Air Wind Mill

Air Power has developed the first solar panel chilled by compressed air: connected to the exhaust pipe of Air Power engine, in its static model, it receives air at - 60C ° and increases its efficiency of + / - 30%.Therefore retrofiting of existing solar parks is possible.

Air Power Technology is highly strategic as in both cases it allows to accomplish conversion kit for existing photovoltaic and wind parks to allow the storage of energy lost during time of maintenance or disconnection from the grid by the operators in order to resell the energy stored later on in a most profitable hours.

AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS

It will be possible to develop conversion kits for buses destined for urban public transport: thus, at a very competitive price, you can get a complete revamping of the fleet of vehicles available, thanks both to the Power Station for the production of renewable energy, and the lower cost of current management, it will create a positive cash flows effects for the municipalities aside from the positive effects on the environmental health: in this case, 2,000 buses can purify the air breathed by one million of people.

It will be possible to develop a conversion kit for goods carriage vehicles, from which both the compressed air tank, or the turbo alternator for the supply of services can be applied. Both in the head engine cylinder, in the piston, and in the sealing rings of the pneumatic type can be transformed into a vehicle with negative emission. We have calculated that 4,000 Vans can purify the air breathed by one million of people.

For the following vehicles, whose fleet is of several millions of units in Europe the compressed air may be provided by Municipalities which will be equipped with a production and charging infrastructure that in beginning was destined to buses for public transport.

PYRO-GASIFICATION SYSTEM + AIR POWER SYSTEMS INTEGRATION

CONTROL SYSTEM

An overall control of the entire system will be installed to supervise all the activities during the start-up, operation, and maintenance period. All technical data from different systems will be received and processed by a central system, to be able to supervise and control different security applications and to optimize the management of the various resources through the different parameters.
A system of acquisition through data sensors connected directly to various plants, as a result of preventive programming and logic operation, will automatically and securely calibrate the various exchanges between the various processes. Monitoring 24 hours all the information’s starting from raw material logistics until process.

CONNECTION TO THE GRID

POWER ACCUMULATION

In SET’s project, another important point is the accumulation of power through the storage of compressed air that aside from supplying the other consumers (loads), it can also operate a turbo-alternator for the production of electricity.

This feature makes it a point that the production of electric energy is predictable in its grid input therefore making it dispatchable and at the end contributing on the quality and safety of the electrical system.

It is clear that through the connection, the interaction with the network will be an active type and with this viewpoint, the basics to implement the Smart Grid philosophy are created.

SMART CITY INTEGRATION APPROACH

“Smart Grid” is an intelligent network that can accommodate bidirectional power flows, that allows interaction between the producer and consumer, and to determine in advance the demands of consumption, therefore to flexibly adapt the production and consumption of electrical energy.

A network that communicates exchanging information about the energy flows, by efficiently managing peak demands, avoiding power cuts and reducing the loads where it is needed.

Services applications

AIR POWER and its selected Partner has developed the concept of Civil Engineering applied in Residential use of the Compressed Air for the production of A-class Energy for Anti-seismic and Ecological houses, that will be totally powered by renewable sources by placing an Air Power engine in its static version, to obtain electricity, heating, cooling and indoor air purification.

Thanks to the these main components, the development of these concepts became possible:

The Technology used in our system allows: 

  • SIMPLICITY’: in its installation, use and maintenance.

  • INTEGRATION : a supervision and control system that handles the integration of various processes, with an “on-line monitoring and warnings” by assigning different settings on the system.
